Just a reminder to all of you who work with lodestones for love and money drawing--the Autumnal Equinox is fast approaching and one traditional belief in Hoodoo is that this is the best time to clean your lodestones off, feed them with some whisky and let them dry out before anointing them with oils/cologne and setting them working for you again. Depending on how you work with your lodestones you might find that you need to clean them off on a periodic basis, but giving them a thorough cleaning and whisky bath on the Equinox is a nice way to thank them for the work they have done for you and charge them up for another year. The Autumnal Equinox, also known as the First Day of Fall will occur on September 22nd at 11:09pm eastern standard time. You do not have to clean off your lodestone at exactly that moment though--I was taught that you can work within a 24 hour window surrounding the Equinox. I always use this time to thank my personal lodestones and also to clean my altars and freshen them for fall!
